About

IMG_3697 The mission of this blog is to raise awareness about Philadelphia’s continuous school budget cuts, students’ struggle to achieve, and how significant education is in an individual’s success. This blog explores all the factors of a great school experience pertaining to what makes a good teacher, people in power who symbolize and represent Philadelphia students, the responsibility of an individual student, and the real effect of the budget cuts on the next generation of Philadelphia. Our 35th president, John F. Kennedy once said, “A child miseducated, is a child lost.” With the considerations of such meritorious programs such as the International Baccalaureate program and the Advanced Placement program to be cut, Philadelphia high school students are put at risk to lose higher education opportunities.  With the arts and music programs being treated as low priorities, Philadelphia high school students have no outlet to express themselves. With our athletic options decreasing by the year, Philadelphia high school students’ health and body image/confidence deteriorate. This blog was made to help spread our mission throughout Philadelphia for their own high school students. This blog was created by the UCC (University Community Collaborative) at Temple University and is administrated by current high school students educated under the Philadelphia School District.
